EUFAMI - the European Association of Families

EUFAMI (European Federation of Associations of Families of People with Mental Illness) represents families with people with mental illness on a European level, particularly towards European and international government bodies. The membership is made up of around 50 organisations from 26 European countries. Most of the members are national organisations but there are also some regional organisations.
The main aims of EUFAMI are

  • the continuous improvement of the situation of people with mental illness, the quality of care and support for their families and friends throughout Europe
  • the networking of member organisations, particularly with regard to the exchange of best practice projects and national anti-stigma activities
  • the support of member organisations in their efforts to improve conditions in their country or region

The Federal Association of Families of People with Mental Illness is represented at EUFAMI by Janine Berg-Peer. Mrs. Berg-Peer describes her work on an international level in an interview.
