Inclusion and exclusion are terms in daily use. Particularly for young people with physical and above all psychological disabilities, participation in school life and professional training is difficult. Teachers, trainers and employers find it difficult to be able to fulfil the requirement for specific educational and support concepts. Specially tailored support programmes are often not possible.
This shows up the gulf between reality and the expectations of Article 27 of the UN Convention on the Right of Persons with Disabilities and the German Law on improving the Participation and Autonomy of Persons with Disabilities (Bundesteilhabegesetz - BTHG). The Indiverso project offers advanced training for the decision-makers in educational and rehabilitation facilities and prepares guidelines on crisis prevention and intervention. The Indiverso project enables the BApK and its local cooperation partners to benefit from experiences all over Europe.
